The short version
- Cricket Nuffy has no accounts. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, or precise location.
- Your game progress stays on your phone. We cannot see it.
- Google AdMob shows the ads and collects some data to do it. You choose whether ads are personalized, and ads are limited to content rated for teens.
- When you buy something, our server checks the purchase with Google Play and keeps a small record of it.
- Firebase Analytics tells us how the game is played, and Crashlytics sends us crash reports. Analytics stays off until the consent step has run.
- We do not sell personal data.
What stays on your phone
Your game progress, Runs, Nuffies, decorations, streak, Nuffy Quiz scores and statistics, and settings are stored on your device only. We do not receive them, so we cannot see or recover them. Uninstalling the game or clearing its data removes them.
The quiz questions ship inside the game. Your answers are checked on the phone and are not sent to us.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Cricket Nuffy shows ads through Google AdMob. Before any ad loads, the game runs Google's User Messaging Platform to check which privacy rules apply where you are.
- European Economic Area, UK and Switzerland: you see a consent form first. Personalized ads load only if you agree to the purposes they need. Otherwise you get non-personalized ads.
- US states with privacy laws (such as California, Virginia, Colorado and Connecticut): you can opt out of targeted advertising and the sale or sharing of your data. If you opt out, or the game cannot read your choice, it asks only for non-personalized ads.
To show and measure ads, AdMob may collect your advertising ID, your IP address (which gives an approximate location), device and app information, and how you interact with ads. Non-personalized ads still use some of this to limit how often an ad repeats and to detect fraud.
We ask AdMob to show only ads rated for teens and older (Google's "T" maximum ad content rating), because the game is made for players 13 and over.
Where your region requires it, Settings > Privacy options appears in the game so you can change your choice at any time. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings.
Google's use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Google also explains its user messaging and consent tools.
Full-screen ads appear only on the level-clear screen, never during a puzzle or the quiz. Rewarded ads are optional and only play if you choose to watch one. Remove Ads stops the full-screen ads.
Purchases (Google Play Billing)
Purchases go through Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment, and we never receive your card details.
To deliver and protect purchases, the app sends the Google Play purchase token and the product ID to our verification server, which runs on Google Cloud and Firebase in the United States. The server checks the purchase with Google Play and stores only:
- a one-way hash of the purchase token (not the token itself)
- the product ID
- the order ID
- the purchase state
- timestamps
These records contain no name or email address. We keep them while we need them to honor the purchase and handle refunds, then delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner; see Delete your data.
Analytics and crash reporting
Cricket Nuffy uses three Google Firebase services. Google processes this data for us as a service provider.
Firebase Analytics
Analytics shows us which levels are too hard, which quiz questions trip people up, how hints and rewarded ads are used, and where players stop, so we can tune the game. It collects:
- an app instance ID, a random identifier created when the game is installed. Analytics does not collect your advertising ID.
- app interactions, such as levels started and finished, time spent on a level, hints used, Runs earned and spent, quiz rounds started and finished with their scores, ads offered and watched, and the steps of a purchase (never the purchase token or order ID)
- approximate location (country, region, or city) derived from your IP address
- device information, such as model, Android version, language, screen size, and app version
Analytics is off when the game first opens and turns on only after the consent step has run. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, it stays off unless you agree to storing and accessing information on your device. Ad-related signals are sent to Google only if you allowed personalized ads; otherwise they are denied. Changing your choice in Settings > Privacy options updates this.
Google Analytics keeps event-level data for the retention period set in our Analytics account, which is at most 14 months. Reports built from that data contain no identifier that points back to you.
Firebase Crashlytics
If the game crashes, Crashlytics sends a crash report so we can fix the problem. A report contains the crash log and stack trace, device state at the time (such as device model, Android version, free memory and storage, and orientation), the app version, and a Crashlytics installation UUID with a Firebase installation ID. Only the release version from Google Play sends crash reports. Firebase keeps crash data and these identifiers for 90 days before removing them.
Firebase Remote Config
Remote Config lets us adjust game values, such as Run rewards, hint prices, the daily quiz payout, and how often ads can appear, without an app update. The game downloads new values in the background and uses them the next time it starts. To do this, Firebase uses a Firebase installation ID. Firebase keeps installation IDs until we ask for one to be deleted.
Uninstalling the game or clearing its data resets the app instance ID and the installation IDs, so new data is not linked to the old data.
Children
Cricket Nuffy is made for players 13 and over and is not directed to children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has given us data, email us and we will delete what we hold.
Your choices and deletion
- Change your ad and analytics consent in Settings > Privacy options, where your region requires it.
- Reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings.
- Uninstall the game or clear its data to remove everything stored on your phone and reset the analytics and installation IDs.
- Ask us to delete purchase verification records. See Delete your data.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, or to object to how it is used. Email us and we will answer within 30 days. Because we have no accounts, we may ask for a Google Play order ID to find purchase records.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date. We post changes here before they take effect in the game.
